I'm Tara, a humanistic and integrative psychotherapist committed to guiding individuals on their journey toward holistic well-being. With a compassionate and empathetic approach, I prioritise creating a safe and non-judgmental space where clients can explore their innermost thoughts, emotions, and experiences. THERAPEUTIC QUALIFICATIONS & CONTINUING PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
2020 - I began and completed my ABC Counselling Concepts Level 1&2 award.

2021 - I began my BSc in Humanistic & Integrative Psychotherapy at The Sherwood Psychotherapy Training Institute (SPTI). This is a 3-year Bachelors of Science degree. Completion of this requires 200 client therapy hours, 110 hours of personal therapy and 70 hours of professional supervision.

2022 - Started working as a Trainee Therapist for Sue Young Cancer Support (SYCS) focusing on clients struggling with their association to cancer whether that be as a patient, relative, carer or bereaved loved one.
​
2023 - Began working for his Majesty's Prison Service as a prison counsellor. My role involved working directly with the male inmates suffering with a range of psychological disturbances from childhood trauma to personality disorder.

2023 - Started working as a remote Trainee Therapist for SAIL working online with clients who have survived childhood sexual abuse and incest.

2024 - Completed a certificate in Trauma and the Body: Dissociation and Somatisation from Carolyn Spring.

2024 – Began working as a Trainee Therapist at Kettering Mind offering counselling to people with mental health problems, people from racialised communities, and people in poverty.
​
2024 – Completed training in Family and Relationship Dynamics with Hayley Rose Psychotherapy.
​
2024 - Completed all elements of the programme and passed BSc in Humanistic & Integrative Psychotherapy. My final year research dissertation was working with Disorganised Attachment within the Therapeutic Relationship.
2024 - Became a registered member of BACP and set up Tara Leigh Psychotherapy & Counselling (TLPC).

2025 - CPD Certificate in 'Working with Shame' completed through the Counselling Tutor Platform.
